MERGAL K10N

MERGAL K10N is an industrial 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one based preservative used to prevent deterioration and degradation caused by bacteria in aqueous systems. MERGAL K10N provides long-term wet-state (in-can) preservation. It offers excellent stability and compatibility even with difficult formulations/systems. Since MERGAL K10N contains no organic solvents or additives, it is especially suited for applications in which VOC is a concern. MERGAL K10N has a broad spectrum of efficacy against a wide range of microorganisms, especially bacteria. MERGAL K10N is typically used at a level of 0.05% - 0.50% by weight. The level required to protect any particular system depends on a variety of factors: initial level of microbiological contamination, the components of the system, the likelihood of exposure to repeat microbiological intrusions, residual reducing and oxidizing agents, temperature, and the pH of the system as well as the use of fast-acting co-preservatives.
