BYK-3566

BYK-3566 is a surface-active additive that can be used in formulations for Advanced Materials. BYK-3566 improves leveling and increases the surface energy of aqueous, solvent- borne, UV and 100 % systems used in Advanced Materials with moderate anti-cratering properties. BYK-3566 helps promote the orientation toward the coating/air interface in solvent-borne, 100 % and UV systems used in Advanced Materials applications, which has a positive effect on the wetting and leveling of the next coating layer as well as its adhesion. BYK-3566 can also help improve the collection of spray mist in aqueous systems used for Advanced Materials. The polyether modifications in BYK-3566 are conditionally temperature stable and can degrade at higher baking temperatures, which can affect the surface energy and recoatability in Advanced Materials coatings. However, BYK-3566 provides benefits such as improved leveling, surface energy and adhesion in Advanced Materials formulations without being reactive.
